presents the 2010 edition of the

Octoberfest 5K Run & Wellness Walk

The Event

On October 9, 2010 at 8:30 a.m., a pack of enthusiastic local runners will begin running west from Chesapeake's "Triangle". They will run about a mile and a half, then, they will turn around and run back. The course is mostly flat, except for a dip near the west end. Shaped kind of like a long-handled spoon.

Registration

Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 8:15 a.m. Race day registration fee is $20.00. Pre-registration must be recieved by October 2, 2010. Pre-registration fee is $15.00. Awards

$50.00 cash awards given to the top male and female finishers. Awards will be given to the top three in each of the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. There will be no duplication of awards.

Directions

• Traveling east on US 52, from direction of Ironton, take the Chesapeake exit, you will see runners and tents at the bottom of the exit.

  Traveling from west Huntington, cross 17th St. W. bridge, take right exit, travel east per above directions.

  Traveling from central or east Huntington, cross 6th St. bridge, turn left at the light, pass one more light, you will see runners and tents on the right.

  Traveling south on Route 7, go straight through Chesapeake until you see runners and tents on the right.

The Bigger Event

The race is just the first event of the day. Octoberfest has activities going on all day long.
